“A Weekend to
Remember” brought together 76 Nigerian couples, ranging from eight
months to 30 years of marriage, for a concentrated time of marriage building.
Couples from across Nigeria converged in Jos for this special weekend. The
couples’ comments assure us this weekend will long be remembered and have a
lifetime impact.

The
speaking team from the U.S. Family Life ministry of Campus Crusade for Christ
clearly bonded with the Nigerian couples.
Through humor and personal examples, they conveyed biblically-based
principles of God’s purpose and plan for marriage, communication, conflict
resolution, and leaving a legacy.
But
the future is perhaps even more exciting.
Prior to the conference 37 key Nigerian couples from all parts of the
country were trained for three days in how to conduct “Weekends to Remember”.
The content included speaker training, financing a conference,
publicity, and expanding the ministry through Home Builders small groups.
The “Weekend to Remember” conference that followed modeled the
speaker training.
Follow-up
from the conference is already underway.
Eleven couples met in our home to strategize and plan for new Home
Builders groups in Jos, integrating many of the couples who attended the “Weekend
to Remember.” As we prepare to
speak at a “Weekend to Remember” exclusively for executives in October, we
are excited by the way God is accelerating the Family Life ministry.
Thanks
for joining with us in what God is doing to transform marriages in all corners
of Nigeria.
